Are you feeling stuck - unable to make the changes needed to create the life you want?
If that voice inside of you says “Yes”, know that there is a way through this. I will show you, through a simple process, how you can bridge the gap between what you want to do and what you actually do.
And best of all the steps in this process do not rely on consistently high levels of motivation, discipline or will-power. There’s a better and easier way of being successful in creating habits that will yield results that last; and ways to live a life that is in better alignment with your values – what matters most.
Begin by letting go of all the excuses, unleashing yourself from past regrets, there are no apologies needed, no judgement, guilt, or shame to get caught up in. and, allow yourself to be open to possibilities, have a curiosity, a willingness to be flexible, and lots of self-compassion. Start from a clean slate!
My story - the life events and struggles - were catalysts for change and for beginning my journey of transformation. Each and every time I found myself at a turning point or transition in my life, my clear vision about what mattered most - my “why” - guided me to the perfect person or situation to keep me on track and moving forward.
Today and every day, I am grateful for the seeds that were planted along the way that totally disrupted me and catapulted me into this journey. I learned to ask the questions that would lead me to a solution rather than keeping me stuck or going backwards by focusing on the problem. I adopted a new belief that anything was possible. Failure was not an option. And, with this new mindset it seemed that miraculously, in the perfect time, whatever it was that I needed, began to appear - the mentors and guides who changed my life forever with their insights and wisdom, and who taught me the skills and behaviors I needed to help me get unstuck find my way to a better life. It is my hope to share these insights with you.
Here are some of my life-lesson takeaways:
- Life can be better when I believe that I can.
- Missteps are not failures but something to learn from.
- Be more aware, more curious, more flexible and open to possibilities, more accepting, more patient, and more compassionate with yourself, let go of judging or comparing myself to others.
- Choose to become an active player in my life, not a victim of the circumstances that life presents
- Take one step at a time and celebrate my successes each and every step of the way. Sometimes by simply telling myself “you did it…or you’ve got this”. And, sometimes through a more complex process cheering yourself on - “Trish, you can do this…small steps, keep going…just do it.”
This blog series is an opportunity to get unstuck – to learn how to create a mindset for change and a life that reflects more of what you want and less of what you don’t want.
We are all on this journey together, and we don’t have to wait for anyone or anything to change in order for our lives to get better. We are the architects of our lives. We can create a new story for ourselves and we can begin anytime.
Re-framing, re-working, fine-tuning and tweaking our habits helps us to keep moving forward towards our vision and living each day more in alignment with what matters most.
In the next post we’ll focus on Discovering your “Why” … what you aspire to… what matters most…so that you can begin to create lasting food and lifestyle habits that are in alignment with your values.
